Ski Tour?s success was awesome

Wow, wasn't the Honda Ski Tour great! Many, many thanks to everyone who had a hand in pulling this major undertaking off in such first class style!

Of course, the visionaries of this event were Kipp Nelson and Steve Brown—as well as their cracker-jack team of organizers led by Maureen Baker and Lynn McCarthy, and the hundreds of people they managed; all of the national and local sponsors, all of the staff of the Sun Valley Company, the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation who helped with all the on-mountain events, the Sun Valley and Ketchum City Councils and staff, who supported it wholeheartedly; Terry Crawford and the KART team who ran a seamless transport system, all of the police and firemen who braved the cold to provide security and kept the bonfires burning, the top-notch athletes who participated, all of the volunteers and everyone else who just came out to be a part of it.

All of the out-of-town people and media I talked to were really impressed with the level of enthusiasm our community showed in so many ways and I'm sure that also reflected positively when the "recap" aired last week on ABC.

To THST team, best of luck for an equally successful rest of the tour and thanks a million for giving this wonderful gift to the Wood River Valley! Already looking forward to next year.

Executive Director
