Looking to extend a 10-0 unbeaten streak, the Sun Valley Suns play host to the Beacon Hill Hockey Club from Summit, N.J. tonight and tomorrow evening.
Suns coach Chris Benson expects some tough games.
"They're coming a long way—they don't want to come out here just throw a couple of games away," he said. "I think it will be pretty entertaining for the fans to see."
The Suns have played the Beacon Hill boys before, but that was six years ago when the teams tied 3-3 in the first match and the Suns grabbed a 7-1 victory in the second.
Benson said Beacon Hill has undergone some player changes since the teams last met, but an evaluation of their roster shows that they have some former Division 1 college players on the team.
"They've got some pretty comfortable, smart hockey players," Benson said. "Maybe they're not the fastest hockey team in the world but, its' not a team we can take lightly."
Benson said the Suns are playing good defense so he's not anticipating high scoring games. "But you never know," he said.
"My boys are playing good right now, but we've still got a lot of hockey left," Benson said.
Opening face-offs start at 7:30 p.m. both nights at the Sun Valley Skating Center. Tickets are $7. Saturday's game is a benefit for the Blaine County Sheriff's Office DARE/PAL programs.
