Governor?s wolf plan sound

I support Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter's plan for public hunts to decrease some of the wolf population, which is out of control. My husband, our dogs and horses had threatening wolf encounters last summer. Our family spent Christmas at our cabin at Smoky Bar north of Fairfield. We were afraid to let our dogs or children out of our sight because of the pack of 11 wolves less than a mile away. (They were feeding on one of the few remaining elk.) Yes, they were beautiful to watch and thrilling to hear. However, they will actually do better when they learn to fear a predator. Personally, I'd rather see the elk and deer have a chance to repopulate.
