Let me pose the question: What was the biggest and arguably most important news story in the state of Idaho in the last week? Well, for those of you with your eyes and ears on shut down it must have been our local Polar Bear Club jumping in the Big Wood ... again. Let me pose another question: What were you thinking Idaho Mountain Express in failing to post even a sentence in regards to the Boise State upset at the Fiesta Bowl?
I should think you would be embarrassed in your failure to capture the excitement of this monumental feat that has the nation talking. Nearly every other news publication in this state, as well as many around the U.S., had substantial coverage of the fantastic New Year's Day Fiesta Bowl! I am disappointed in your staff for not realizing the importance of sharing the story that celebrates a win for not only the Broncos, but for the state of Idaho.
Did you believe there would be no interest in this valley? If that is why there is no reference to what everyone thinks is one of the best bowl games in history, then you truly have very little idea of who lives and recreates in this great valley. Ask any of the local bar and restaurant owners what was occurring last Monday night at their establishment and I guarantee their answer will be ... History was being made and we were hopping!
I think I speak for many who regularly read your publication when I say: Get in touch with what is happening outside of our little bubble we call home! Make a Boise State graduate proud and help share in this football team's excitement and accomplishment. Some great future players may be attending Wood River as we speak!
