Renaming streets to some ambiguous names that no "tourist" would have any idea what they mean is really stupid. East Avenue, Leadville or whatever, have been named for decades. What more information is in the newly suggested street names? Knob Hill? Why not make it Nob Hill? Then they will think it is San Francisco. Griffin Butte? What tourist knows what the heck that is?
Stop this waste of taxpayer money. Back-in parking? Whether one backs in or out, one is still backing up. The city has more to do with tax money than pay "experts" big bucks to tell us how to spend more. All new parking striping, new street signs—that is all money we need for our well functioning fire department, the police force, the street cleaning. Stop squandering the residents' money on foolishness.
I can just hear visiting skiers saying, "Wow, let's go to Ketchum. They are renaming the streets."
The phone books and the maps, of which we have a plethora, would be obsolete. More cost for locals. But I do have a great idea. Let's rename the "expert" and some politicians under the influence. We'll call them Dumb, Dumber and Dumbest. Stop it.
