?Historic? needs definition

What is a historical site? Is it a geographical place (site) where history was made? If it is, as described in the dictionary, doesn't moving a remodeled building to a different location negate that building's description as a historical site?

Antique photos showing the bungalow of the original structure occupied by Frank Gooding and McCoy families is a far cry from the existing building. The home pictured in the Idaho Mountain Express was the remodel by Irwin Bockmeyer, head wine steward at the Sun Valley Lodge, completed in 1957. That date is inscribed in the door on the second-story porch.

This house was purchased by B.B. Miller in 1959 as a second home and owned by Mr. Miller until 2003. The Miller family has almost 50 years of treasured memories of the home, as do many a longtime resident, ski instructor, and employee of the valley, as the doors of this home were wide and welcoming for many a stray individual to have a Christmas Day feast around her roaring fireplace.

You can move the house (no longer a home). You can build a new structure. But you can't take the memories.
