Treats for swimmers at Spook Splash

SV5B medals in Idaho Falls

SV5B swimmers swiped gold 22 times last weekend during the "Spook Splash" Idaho Falls Invitational, an annual four-state contest for 300 athletes.

The local swimmers finished with 16 second place finishes, and 11 bronze in age groups. SV5B now boasts over 10 new members, adding continued depth to the already talented Blaine County swim club.

Rian Ervin, 18, and nine-year-old Kaedi Fry each snagged four spooky golds.

Relay highlights included a gold medal by the 18-under girls 200 medley relay team of Racheal McGinnis, Rian Ervin, Megan Hayes and Natalie Hague. The 14-under boys 200 free team of JT Sutton, Forrest Davis, Broadie Burrell and Sean Sutton were in second.

Next, the Wood River High girls will defend their state team title Friday and Saturday, Nov. 3-4 at West Boise YMCA.
