SUFC teams enjoy a blustery soccer weekend

Fine team efforts in Pocatello

The weather was cold and blustery, but otherwise it was a highly successful weekend for nine Sawtooth United F.C. youth soccer teams competing Saturday and Sunday in Pocatello's Gate City Festival.

SUFC boys' and girls' teams compiled a glittering 12-9-6 record in their 27 games over two days and posted outstanding results in the round-robin format—winning three titles, tying for one championship and placing second in three classes.

The U12 Gasenica boys went 3-0-0 to win their division, outscoring opponents 10-0.

Local coaches and program coordinators thanked all the parents who braved the elements and late-night finishes to make for a memorable time.
