Concordia College (Ore.) sophomore golfer Marc Arima, 19, of Meridian captured overall Club Champion honors with a terrific final round at the Idaho Golf Association's Tournament of Champions last weekend at Sun Valley Golf Course.
Arima carded a 36-hole total of 76-67 for one-under-par 143. His final round 67 was five-under-par, the tournament's best round.
One tournament highlight was a rare hole-in-one accomplished Sunday by local golfer Dick Shelton on the #15 hole at Sun Valley.
The Wood River Valley crowned two divisional champions during the two-day tournament for 104 golfers.
Georgia Rand Hutchinson (73-74 for 3-over-par 147) won the 21-golfer Women's Club Champions flight by seven strokes over Kareen Markle of Eagle (76-78 for 154).
And Bigwood Golf Course champion Matt Meador (71-74 for 145) took the Champions division by two strokes over Marc Rhoades of McCall (75-72 for 147).
Senior Men's and Women's Champions were Joe Malay of Weiser (76-68 for 144), by just a single stroke over former Ketchum golfer Bob Lutz of Jerome (72-73 for 145), and Jaynie Chase of Eagle (79-81 for 160).
Other scores of locals were Kim Kopecky 86-88 for 174, Marcia Rankin 90-89 for 179, Dave Hausmann 85-77 for 162, Walter Littenberg 77-82 for 159, Dick Shelton 86-74 for 160 and Emily Garr 95-88 for 183.
