The Sun Valley Figure Skating Club captured more Show Skating hardware than any other club present at last weekend's Cottonwood Heights skating club's annual Oktoberfest in Salt Lake City.
Medals were awarded to first-through-fourth place winners in the Freeskate, Artistic, and Showcase categories.
Skating at the Pre-Juvenile test level, Nicole Pratt took first in Showcase, second in Artistic and third in Freeskate.
At the Preliminary test level, Devon Sherrerd captured first in Showcase, fifth in Artistic and fifth in Freeskate.
At the Pre-Preliminary test level, Alexandra Harten took second in both Showcase and Artistic, and fourth in Freeskate.
At the Basic Skills level, Serena Hertel and Kelly Lotz competed at High Freeskate, tying for second place in Showcase. Hertel earned second in Artistic and third in Freeskate, while Lotz took third in Artistic and fourth in Freeskate.
Katie Lotz and Kenny Pratt competed in Basic Skills Freeskate, Level C, with Pratt winning first place in Showcase, and Lotz winning third place in both Showcase and Artistic.
Joining the club for the first time at a traveling competition were third grader Brooke Allen and Kindergartners Hayley Allen and Christine Dufur. Allen won second place in Basic Skills Showcase Level C/D and sixth place in Freeskate Level C. Dufur won third place in Basic Skills Freeskate Level C and fourth place in Showcase Level A/B. Allen took third in Basic Skills Freeskate, Level A and fifth in Showcase Level A/B.
