The power of cinema may be in the eye of the beholder, but Light on the Mountains Spiritual Center is taking this seminal idea one step further.
This Wednesday, Light on the Mountains will screen the documentary film "The Secret," as part of a month-long series of weekly classes based on the movie.
A feature-length documentary, "The Secret" is embedded with historic and factual accounts of what is known as a 4,000-year-old idea that only a few fortunate beings have had the privilege of knowing. The program claims to bear all the resources one would ever need to understand and live "The Secret."
Apparently for the first time in history, the world's leading scientists, authors and philosophers will reveal the secret that transformed the lives of every person who ever knew it. You may have heard of a few of them, names like Plato, Newton, Carnegie, Beethoven, Shakespeare, Einstein and many others who have made their mark in history. Now the motivation and inspiration that made these men valuable assets to mankind is available to everyone.
Light on the Mountains will hold classes every Wednesday evening throughout October to examine the more specific related ideas to "the secret of life itself" in the form of four "Abundance" classes. Directly related to the film, the classes featured will be: The Secret of Attraction, The Secret of Circulation, The Secret of the Creative Process and The Secret of Visioning and Visualization. In addition, each Wednesday evening class will be an experiential component of the previous Sunday's service talk presented by the Rev. John Moreland.
However, the free Abundance class sessions do come with a disclaimer: "This class is guaranteed to get your life moving. The cost of this class is 10 percent of unexpected income that you were able to manifest in your life during the period of this class," said Moreland.
Each class will focus upon on a different area in a person's life in which they can achieve total abundance in order to fulfill their life's destiny.
"The Secret" is the creation of Rhonda Byrne, principal of Prime Time Productions, an independent film and television company based in Melbourne, Australia.
Byrne's initial intention in making the film was "to make a movie to carry joy to every corner of the earth."
Launched worldwide on March 26, 2006, "The Secret" reached audiences via the Web, video-on-demand as well as pay-per-view. Broadband users can watch the film on-line, full-screen for $4.95. With the belief in producing enlightening and uplifting work that brings joy to billions, Prime Time Productions has created a very accessible product for those looking or needing a little inspiration in their life.
Light on the Mountains, south of Ketchum, will present "The Secret" at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, free, with a discussion to follow.
