Cutthroats shut out Mushers, Carey beats Bliss

The Wood River High School Wolverines ruled the volleyball court in Jerome Tuesday evening, not only knocking off conference rival Jerome, but picking off Century High as well.

In tri-meet action, the Wolverines beat Jerome 25-19, 25-22 and 25-23. The game was the first meeting of the Wolverines and Tigers since last year when Jerome defeated Wood River to win the Great Basin Conference West tournament championship.

Jerome placed second in the meet, beating Century in three sets 2-1.

The wins lifted the Wolverines to 3-4 overall and 2-0 in league play.

The Wolverines played their home opener Thursday night against Pocatello. On Tuesday, Sept. 12, Wood River hosts a tri-meet with Twin Falls and Gooding.
