Sale and Pelletier headline ice show

Olympic gold medallists Jamie Sale and David Pelletier will perform Saturday, Sept. 2, at the Sun Valley Ice Show.

The Canadian skating duo are former World and Canadian champions. They won their gold medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City in the infamous judging scandal that originally left them with the second place silver award.

Most observers of the pairs skating event agreed that Sale and Pelletier had outperformed Russian rivals Yelena Berezhnaya and Anton Sikharulidze, who were awarded the gold. Subsequently, it was determined that French officials had conspired to give the Russians the top award and Sale and Pelletier's silver was traded for gold.

Saturday's performance is only one away from the season finale on Sept. 9 that features the Russian skating team of Elena Leonova and Andrei Khvalko.
