Davis Love III to give golf exhibition

Presented by Suns Foundation Inc.


Suns Foundation, Inc. in conjunction with Sun Valley Company will present professional golfer Davis Love III for a free golf exhibition to benefit Wood River Valley youth.

Joining Love will be 25-year touring pro Blaine McCallister.

Gates open at the Sun Valley golf range on Saturday, Aug. 5 at 2:30 p.m. The exhibition is from 3-4:30 p.m.

Event lanyards will be given to the first 200 kids. Donations will benefit Suns Foundation, Inc. and Wood River Community YMCA.

The event is open to the public and designed to inspire young people in the Wood River Valley to partake and excel at the game of golf.

Davis Love III, 42, will be hosting the exhibition, answering questions and signing autographs. Winner of 18 PGA tournaments including the 1997 PGA Championship, Love, who plays out of Sea Island, Ga. and is a frequent Sun Valley visitor, has been on six Ryder Cup and six President's Cup teams.

McCallister, 47, a five-time PGA tournament winner, is from Texas and attended college in Houston.

Organizers suggest bringing cameras, video cameras, and sunscreen.

Suns Foundation, Inc., which supports the Sun Valley Suns men's ice hockey team, is dedicated to the mission of "raising awareness as well as funding for youth athletic programs and charities in the Wood River Valley."

Some of the organizations supported by Suns Foundation, Inc. include Wood River Community YMCA, Hailey Ice, Girls on the Run, Camp Rainbow Gold, Sun Valley Adaptive Sports, Sun Valley Youth Hockey, City of Ketchum Junior Golf, Blaine County HUB, Park Penguins and Wood River Little League.
