Middle school gives out year-end awards

Citizenship and academic honors


Outstanding Wood River Middle School students and citizens were honored for their 2005-06 school year academics and activities at awards assemblies the last week of school.

The student body at the Hailey school voted on Citizenship Awards.

Citizenship winners in the Red and Green (eighth grade), Blue and Purple (seventh grade), and Gold and Silver (sixth grade) teams were determined on service, courtesy, scholarship, character, personality and attitude.

Eighth-grade winners were Meagan Carey, Morgan Pike, Miranda Williams and Max Durtschi.

Seventh-grade citizenship award recipients were Laura Kunz, James Paris, Jessica Hamilton and Joseph Altermatt.

Sixth-grade citizenship winners for 2005-06 were Kaitana Martinez, Sean Sutton, Joseph Stellers and Tristin Bowers.

Principal's Awards went to Audrey Kirk and Spencer Bailey (8th grade), Brenda Barriga and Tanner Dredge (7th grade), Marty Boughton and Jeffrey Espejo (6th grade).

The President's Education Awards for Academic Excellence were given to 54 eighth graders who were on the honor roll and scored 85% or better on the ISAT test during the fall and spring periods. They were:

Red Team—Keven Abbott, Willie Adicoff, Sierra Brand, Ben Broderick, Johnny Burbridge, Meagan Carey, Chase Caulkins, John Crotty, Everett Ford, R.J. Forgeon, Brendan Freund, Brita Gaeddert, Monica Garceau, Nicole Gillette, Carly Gustafson, Zach Herbert, Nina Hirner, Nick Howard, Andre Keys, Audrey Kirk, Sara Koonce, Juan Martinez, Jordan Niedrich, Morgan Pike, Stephanie Sloan, Chelsey Stevens, Britton Stevenson, Daniel Sundali, Aly Ward, Rusty Williams and Kelly Willows-Munro.

Green Team—Chris Clark, Michael Coiner, Taylor Coiner, Tyler Davis, Max Durtschi, Gene Fairbrother, Jill Feldhusen, Matthias Fostvedt, Ryan Gelskey, Jimmy Hague, Ben Herren, Jonathon Hobbs, Debbie Horn, Juana Hurtado, Jake Kaiser, Alexandria Kuntz, Tye Lampl, Alexandra Lindbloom, Sophie Nosworthy, Tori Pfaeffle, Megan Reidy, Dakoda Robrahn and Miranda Williams.

Another prestigious award was perfect attendance, and 24 students achieved that distinction. They were:

Max Bates, Alex Bates, Alex Blackburn, Dalia Carrillo, Pedro Colis, Ashley Hook, Grace Lagodich, Megan Morrell, Erin Murphy, Adam Potts, Britton Stevenson and Cheyanne Swanson.

"Students of the Month" award recipients were:
