Girls track team wins scholastic award


The Wood River High School girls track team has received a 2006 Distinguished Team Scholastic Award from the Idaho High School Activities Association.

In order to qualify for the award, team members must have a composite grade point average of between 3.25 and 4.0. This years 20-member girl's track team met the requirement with a composite GPA of 3.54.

All team members received a DTSA certificate, while eight girls received individual awards for maintaining grade averages between 3.8 and 4.0.

Receiving individual scholastic awards were: Julia Bowman, 4.0; Allie Freund, 4.0; Natalie Hague, 4.0; Kahli Toussant, 4.0; Ellen Ard, 3.92; Kylie Anderson, 3.9; Sloan Brandon, 3.8; and Kat Pettengill, 3.8.
