Sawtooth Botanical Garden walks and talks

Summer Activities

The Sawtooth Botanical Garden is enjoying the fruits of its labors and heading into another summer of outdoors-related events and programs. Personally blessed by the Dalai Lama, the Garden of Infinite Compassion (and the Tibetan prayer wheel) is flourishing. It was graced last weekend with the presence of 10 Buddhist Monks who presided over a widely attended meditation circle.

With the onset of June the Botanical Garden busts out all over with many more offerings.

The Community Supported Agriculture program offers weekly shares of fresh organic produce. Share reservations are required.

Wildflower Walks, Thursday, June 1, 8, 15, & 22. Meet at the Sawtooth Botanical Garden at 9:30 a.m. to carpool to a different destination each week. $5 for Sawtooth Botanical Garden, Environmental Resource & Idaho Native Plant Society members / $15 non-members.

The Annual Drought-Tolerant and Natives Plant Sale, Saturday, June 3, Featuring hard to find favorites. 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Members only preview sale 9 a.m.

Spuds of the Mud. Mondays, June 5 --August 21. 9 -- 11 am. 2 & 3 year olds (with a companion) enjoy garden activities at the Sawtooth Botanical Garden.

Summer Sprouts Garden Camp

For ages 4-6, 9:30 a.m. -- 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 6 -- 27.

For ages 7- 9, 9:30 a.m. -- 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 7--28.

For ages 10-12, 9:30 a.m. -- 2 p.m. Thursday, June 8-- 29.

Financial assistance available. Registration required. 726-9358.

Sawtooth Botanical Garden Speaker Series, The How and Why of Using Rocks in the Garden with Martin Mosko, designer of the Garden of Infinite Compassion, 6 p.m., Friday, June 9, wine and cheese reception followed by slide show presentation and book signing at Gail Severn Gallery. $20 members/ $25 non-members.

Rock Garden Workshop. Saturday, June 10, 9 a.m.--4 p.m. at Sawtooth Botanical Garden. A hands-on workshop where participants learn how to design and install a rock garden with Martin Mosko, designer of the Garden of Infinite Compassion at the Sawtooth Botanical Garden. Reservations required. Class size limited. $140 members/ $150 non-members. Lunch included.

Camas Prairie Centennial Marsh Wildflower Walk & Sustainable Farm Tour. Saturday, June 17 (alternate date, June 24). Meet at the Sawtooth Botanical Garden. 9:30 a.m. -- 4 p.m. Lunch served. $15 for Sawtooth Botanical Garden, Environmental Resource, & Idaho Native Plant Society members/$30 non-members.

Literature in the Garden Party Thursday, June 29. An all ages, all day event with children's literature read aloud in celebration of nature and gardening.

The Sawtooth Botanical Garden's 11th Annual Garden Tour. Saturday, July 8. A self-guided tour of majestic gardens in the valley. 9 a.m. -- 2 p.m.
