At Preston course

High school golfers from seven schools toured Preston Country Club last Wednesday during the state-qualifying Great Basin Conference championship tournament.

All freshmen, Wood River High School's golfers showed promise for the future.

Kyler VanDyck and Pat Gove each carded 101 for their 18-hole tours. Rex Nilsen shot 111 and Garrett Boyle 120. Coach John Braafladt was pleased with their progress.

Pocatello (294 points) won the boys' meet and Wood River (433) was seventh. The top golfers qualified for the State 4A high school tournament Monday and Tuesday at Teton Lakes Golf Course in Rexburg.
