SV5B swimmer Racheal McGinnis, 15, had quite a productive weekend in Nampa.
McGinnis earned a clean sweep in all five of her events at the 2006 April Pools Invitational swim meet—final gathering of the short course season.
She captured individual first places in 200 free, 100 back, 50 free, 200 back and 100 free.
That wasn't all.
McGinnis and her teammates Megan Hayes, Esther Williams and Ashleigh Share placed second in the 200 freestyle relay. In the 200 medley relay the same girls were fifth.
Another SV5B relay team placed seventh in both the 200 medley and 200 free. Those swimmers were Melissa Becker, Sarah Brown, Michael Coiner and Taylor Coiner.
Sarah Brown, 13, and Megan Hayes, 14, had their own bragging points. They each placed in the top three of several events. And five other SV5B girls placed respectably within their age groups in April Pools.
The first of the long course meets is Friday, May 19 at the annual Boise YMCA Spring Fling Invitational.
In other news: Ray Bryson, 17, and McGinnis were selected to the Snake River Swimming Association Junior All-Star team, which competed in the April 22-23 Inland Northwest Challenge staged in Boise.
McGinnis snagged gold individually in 100 and 200 free Short Course Yard (SCY) events, and she added gold in 50 and 100 free Long Course Meter (LCM). She also swam on the 200 free and 200 medley teams placing first in SCY and LCM.
Bryson placed first in 200 breast and third in 200 back SCY. He was first in 200 IM and third in 100 back LCM. Bryson teamed up on relays for second-place finishes across the board in 200 free and 200 medley, both SCY and LCM.

Michael Coiner, 14: 9—200 back; 10—100 free and 200 free; 11—200 breast; 13—100 breast and 100 back; 14—50 free.
Taylor Coiner, 14: 7—100 free, 200 breast and 50 free; 8—100 breast; 9—200 free; 10—200 back; 15—100 back.
Melissa Becker, 14: 8—200 breast; 10—100 breast; 11—200 free; 12—100 free; 16—50 free.
Esther Williams, 14: 6—200 breast and 100 free; 8—50 free; 9—100 breast; 12—100 back.
Megan Hayes, 14: 2—200 free and 100 fly; 3—200 IM; 4—100 free; 5—100 back; 6—50 free.
Ashleigh Share, 15: 4—200 breast; 6—100 free; 8—200 free; 9—50 free; 12—100 breast; 15—100 back.
