The Wood River Varsity and Junior Varsity Tennis teams weathered a light rainstorm by playing eight-game pro set matches against Twin Falls on Tuesday afternoon in Hailey. The Wolverines won four games and dropped 12 to Twin Falls in the questionable weather.

The match of the day was the number one mixed doubles affair that saw Cory Rutkowski and Whitney DeBree rally from a 6-2 deficit to top Twin Falls' Eric Hieb and Eila Olmstead by a final score of 9-8.

DeBree credited her partner's play for the win, saying Rutkowski "played out of his mind." Rutkowski is the team's junior captain.

Other wins included Anna Chrysikopoulos who, at number two doubles, extended her undefeated win streak to five matches. She has won each of those five matches in convincing style, dropping only eight of her last 64 games played. Against Twin Falls on Tuesday, Chrysikopoulos beat Allison Tucker 8-1. Hadley DeBree also won her match, at number one, 8-3 over Becca Harris.

Also combining forces for a close win was number one doubles team Kira Garnder and Abby Fairman who topped their opponents 8-6.
