Tibetan professor to speak in Ketchum

Robert A. F. Thurman will be speaking in Ketchum as the guest of the Sun Valley Center for the Arts, as part of its new "Art of Tibet" exhibition. The talk, titled "The Gifts of the Tibetans," will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 6, at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Sun Valley.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama ordained Thurman, father of actress Uma Thurman, a Buddhist monk in 1964. He is currently the Jey Tsong Khapa professor of Indo-Tibetan Buddhist Studies at Columbia University.
