The Sun Valley Suns (11-3) will try to keep the good times rolling when arch-rival Jackson Hole (Wyo.) Moose comes to Idaho ice for a big two-game men's ice hockey series Friday and Saturday, March 10-11.
Sun Valley (13-3) carries an eight-game winning streak into the weekend set, including the 5-3 and 4-3 wins over the Moose (7-9) at Snow King Center Feb. 24-25 that represented the first-ever Suns sweep in Wyoming.
The Moose have lost seven of their last nine games. In an interview with the Jackson Hole News & Guide following his team's rare home losses to the Suns two weeks ago, Moose coach Jeff Bloomer pledged to add some muscle to his line-up for the trip to Idaho.
"We anticipate a great weekend of hockey for our spectators," said Suns coach Chris Benson. "We gained a lot of momentum from beating the Moose, and we're expecting good things out of the boys this weekend as well."
Opening faceoffs are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The Suns have eight games remaining in 2006, six on home ice including the March 17-18 series with the Seattle Indians and the March 24-25 clash with Portland (Ore.).
Center Jamie Ellison and defenseman Kris Webster, who didn't make the trip to Jackson Hole, are expected back this weekend, coach Benson said.
