Local Masters make regional team

From Park City alpine races

Several local Masters alpine ski racers have been chosen for the 2006 Skiers Edge Western Regional Championships Team, sort of an All-Star squad based on results from a big competition Feb. 3-5 in Utah.

Nearly 180 Masters racers from seven divisions across the U.S. competed in super giant slalom, slalom and giant slalom in the 2006 Skiers Edge Western Regional Championships at Park City Mountain Resort.

The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association Regional Champions Team was then selected from the competitors in each class with the greatest total of World Cup points from their finishes in all three events.

Women chosen from the host Intermountain Division were Virginia Reed (ages 75-79), Glenn McConkey (60-64), Chris Katzenberger (40-44), Dasha Kadulova (30-34) and Dana Alexandrescu (21-29).

Men selected were John Droege (80-84), Carl Fullman (70-74), Bill Skinner (50-54), Michael Falk (40-44) and Jonathan Jessup (21-29).
