Hail a taxi

Formed as an all-star band to play a rainforest benefit, the Colorado bluegrass band Great American Taxi pulls into Whiskey's Saturday, Feb. 12. The band consists of Vince Herman of Leftover Salmon and Reed Foehl of Acoustic Junction, Chad Staehly, Eben Grace and Jake Coffin. They've been hailed as the next "big thing" to come out of Boulder.

Under the full moon

Galena Lodge offers Full Moon Dinners with a five-course meal after skiing and snowshoeing under the full moon 6:30 p.m., tonight, Feb. 10, Saturday, Feb. 11, and Valentine's Day. For reservations 726-4010.

On Sunday, Feb. 12, Expedition Inspiration's Full Moon Celebration is at Carol's Dollar Mountain Lodge, Snowshoe 6 p.m. and dinner auction 7 p.m. Held in memory of Roger Evans. For details, call 726-6456.

Lope off to ski joring

The next two weekends feature the annual ski joring events at Silver Springs Ranch south of Bellevue. Registration for both days is 6 to 9 p.m. tonight, Feb. 10, at Mama Inez in Bellevue. The fun begins Saturday and Sunday at noon. Silver Dollar, in Bellevue, hosts the after-party on Saturday with music by The Sonics.

Workout for children

The Sun Valley Athletic Center in Ketchum is sponsoring a St. Jude Fundraiser, beginning today, Feb. 10. Club members and others are invited to raised donations for amount of minutes spent working out. Registration forms are at the club. The fundraiser continues through Sunday. 'Hedda' opens at Liberty

The Company of Fools presents "Hedda Gabler" at Liberty Theatre, in Hailey. The "Pay What You Feel" preview is 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15. Box office: 578-9122.

Celebrate Baldy

The Heritage and Ski Museum in Ketchum hosts a grand opening and reception for its Bald Mountain Art Exhibit on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 5:30 p.m. Artists from around the Wood River Valley display their work featuring the Mountain.
