Edward Cutter and Patrick McMahon were elected Tuesday, Feb. 7, to director positions for the governing board of Sun Valley Water and Sewer District. The vote decided the membership of the two seats on the five-member board up for election.

McMahon, a former Sun Valley Water and Sewer District's operations manager and water operator, collected the most votes with 74 votes in his favor. During his bid for the director position, McMahon felt there were still tasks he would like to accomplish. He is now a duty officer for the Sun Valley Fire Department.

Cutter, a retired corporate lawyer, received 68 votes to retain his seat on the board. He was appointed in December 2005 to fill the late Jim Agnew's board seat. During his campaign, Cutter emphasized the importance of assuring an adequate water supply and sewer treatment plant capabilities in light of future demand.

Seeking a third term on the board, James Tallackson, fell short with 65 votes. Trained as civil engineer, Tallackson worked in commercial and industrial construction businesses before retiring.

Retired mechanical design engineer Milt Adam garnered 51 votes.

Each seat on the board carries a six-year term.
