For three quarters Tuesday night, the Wood River Wolverines (2-18) and Kimberly Bulldogs (7-10) went toe-to-toe and were even-steven in the scoring department during the final girls' basketball game of the season on the Hailey hardwoods.

But Kimberly drilled three 3-pointers in a 12-3 second-quarter run—two made by 5-9 senior forward Stacy Walters (12 points)—and those points became the difference in the 45-35 Bulldog non-league victory that spoiled Hailey's "Senior Night."

Coach Brent Carnduff's Wolverines, trailing 22-13 at half, tried to make a second-half rally. But Wood River hurt its cause with 15 of its game total of 23 turnovers after intermission. For the game, Hailey out-rebounded the 'Dawgs 36-20.

Top scorer Lauren Morgenthaler (11.2 ppg) had 12 points, 10 rebounds and 3 steals for Wood River.

Other contributors were senior Jamie Stone (8 points, 6 boards, 2 steals), Hannah Ward (4 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals), Kristen Miniard (4 points, 3 boards, 2 assists), Jordan Scanlon (3 points, 4 rebounds), Casey Vegwert (2 points, 6 boards) and senior Cyndi Ochoa (2 points, 3 boards). For Kimberly, Kassie Newberry (10 points, 6 rebounds) joined teammate Walters in double digits.

Tuesday night, Wood River fell 44-23 to #4-ranked Blackfoot (12-3) on the Hailey hardwoods. Stone scored 7 points and Morgenthaler 6.
