Third place in King U18 AA tourney

The Sun Valley Midget AA Team went 2-2 for third place in its six-team division of the Martin Luther King Jr. U18 AA hockey tournament Jan. 14-15 at Las Vegas, Nev.

Max Kwok (4 goals) led the way with two goals in each Sun Valley victory—a 4-1 success over the Phoenix Polar Bears and a 5-2 triumph over Huntington Beach.

Goalie Regan O'Reilly faced 76 shots and made 64 saves in three games. The winner against Phoenix, goalie Colby Stoecklein saved 17 of the 18 shots he faced.

At Jackson Hole

In the six-team tournament coach Hebert's Suns fell 7-3 to Ogden (Utah) Golden Spike in a penalty-filled game Friday, then lost 3-0 to the Missoula (Mt.) Bruins Saturday morning. A 3-3 tie with the Bozeman (Mt.) Freeze Saturday put Sun Valley into Sunday's consolation game, which the Suns lost 3-2 to host Jackson Hole.

Max Kwok (assist by Travis Amick) and Carl Jablonski scored third-period goals rallying the Suns from a 3-1 deficit and into the 3-3 deadlock against Bozeman. Goalie O'Reilly stopped 96 of 106 shots in three games. Stoecklein made 24 of 27 saves in another.
