Scott Featherstone served a European-style amber beer last week during the 13th annual Business Showcase in Sun Valley.
Featherstone's samplings introduced his new Trail Creek Pub, slated to open Friday, Nov. 11, in the main building of the Ketchum Korral, south of downtown Ketchum. He used the forum to meet potential employees and customers.
"We want to get to know the other businesses. It's important to know who is local and support them," Featherstone said.
Presented by the Sun Valley/Ketchum Chamber & Visitors Bureau and the Hailey Chamber of Commerce, the annual tradeshow-style showcase offers businesses an opportunity to display their products and services and network with the community. This year's event Wednesday, Nov. 2, was held in the Limelight Room of the Sun Valley Inn.
"It a yearly event to help support local businesses so they show off their goods and wares to the rest of the valley," said Stefany Mahoney, the Sun Valley/Ketchum Chamber's membership and visitor services manager.
Featherstone was one of 70 vendors that capitalized on the opportunity to introduce new products and services. The event attracted approximately 350 attendees.
The business community munched treats and mingled among aisles of booths. Along the way, visitors dropped businesses cards to win a variety of prizes.
The grand prizes came with the Sun Valley/Ketchum Chamber's raffle. Ten sets of 25 one-day Sun Valley Resort lift tickets for the upcoming season were sold for $10 each. The Chamber made $1,500 in raffle revenue that will go toward supporting air service to the Wood River Valley for the 2006-2007 winter season.
The winners of the passes are Patty Lewis, Sarah Peachey, Andy Hawley, Kathryn Woods, High Country Resorts, Wendy Muir, Barry Peterson Jewelers, Anna Mathieu, Sharon Dose and Keith Pangborn.
