Sun Summit brings medals home

From state championships


The Sun Summit Junior Cycling Team posted excellent results during the Road Cycling State--Championships held Aug. 27-28 in the Boise area.

Sun Summit captured six first-place medals out of a possible 10 state championships in the separate age classes. Out of 26 possible medals, Sun Summit captured 14 medals.

The races included a 31-mile road race for all age groups plus 20-minute (ages 15-16 and 17-18) and 15-minute criterium (ages 10-12, 13-14) events.

For five local kids, it was their first bike racing competition. They were Mali Noyes, Taylor Sundali, Conor Davis, Tyler Davis and Paul Davis.

Ages 17-18: 3—Mikey Matteson. 4—Reid Pletcher.

Ages 15-16, men: 4—Conor Davis. 5—Taylor Sundali. Women: 2—Mali Noyes.

Ages 13-14: 1—Jimmy Hague. 2—Max Durtschi. 3—Taylor Benz. 4—Chase Caulkins. 6—Paul Davis. 7—Tyler Davis.

Criterium
