Summer is coming to a close for Blaine County School District students. The 2005-2006 school year begins Monday, Aug. 29.
Schools across the district have announced registration dates for the upcoming school year.
The registration dates for all district schools are:
· Bellevue Elementary is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17.
· Hemingway Elementary kindergarten and new student registrations are scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 17, 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 2 p.m. Class lists will be posted after to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26.
· Carey School students should register from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, at the high school office.
· Hailey Elementary registration for new students is ongoing from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Class lists and school supply lists will be posted Tuesday, Aug. 23, at 8 a.m. on the door by the school office. An open house to meet teachers will happen from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, for first- to fifth-grade students. A kindergarten open house is scheduled from 1-3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26. Kindergarten registration is full. The school store is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, to Friday, Aug. 26, selling school supplies.
· Wood River Middle School registration will be Thursday, Aug. 18, for the sixth-grade, Friday, Aug. 19, for the seventh-grade and Monday, Aug. 22, for the eighth-grade. All middle school registration sessions are structured by last name. Students should register during their assigned time. Last names that start with M to Z should register from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and A to L should register from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The make-up and multi-family registration day for middle school students is 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 22. The school requests that students who are new to the district arrange an appointment with a school counselor. New students may call Tuesday, Aug. 16, and thereafter to make a registration appointment. During registration students will receive class schedules, complete emergency information forms, pay fees, receive locker assignments, take activity card photos and set up lunch accounts.
· Wood River High School registration for seniors will be Thursday, Aug. 18, juniors Friday, Aug. 19, sophomores Monday, Aug. 22, and freshman Tuesday Aug. 23. All upper classman will be able to build their schedules on the assigned day. Computers will generate freshmen schedules. Students may only register during the assigned time structured by last name. Refer to the information box for a time schedule. The make-up day is 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, for students who miss their regular registration. New student registration with counselors is Thursday and Friday, Aug. 25 and 26, by appointment only. Students should be prepared to pay fees on the day of registration.
Parents should also be aware that entering kindergarten students must be five years of age and first-graders must be six years old on or before Sept. 1, 2005.
At the time of registration kindergarten students are required to present an original state certified birth certificate, immunization records and proof of residency with a physical Blaine County address.
