RESULTS

Waxroom Snappers 11, Clearwater Clippers 7 (game suspended in 9th inning)

Play was halted in the ninth when darkness descended on Founder's Field. If it has a bearing on the playoffs, the inning will be resumed on Saturday, August 13. If not, it is in the books as a win for the Snappers and pitcher Dan Freeman. Waxroom (13 hits): Mark Elsbree 3 hits, 1 run. John Bidon 3 hits (2 doubles), 1 run. Tyson Reynoso 4 runs. Dan Freeman 1 hit, 2 runs. Clearwater (11 hits): Kellen Kinghorn 2 hits (triple/double), 2 runs. Dennis McLean 2 hits, 2 runs. Joe Paisley 2 hits (double), 1 run. Mark Belanger 2 hits.

Lefty's River Dogs 5, Coors Light Cyclones 4 (10 innings)

All call to arms for Lefty's hurler Jimmy Jorgenson who went the distance, tossing 10 frames of 10-hit, no-walk ball. Trailing 2-0, Lefty's scored three runs in the third. Scotty Seaward drew a walk, which was promptly followed by a double by Bryan Burrell (2 hits) and a full-count single by Craig Anderson (2 hits). Robin Sarchett scored in the top of the fourth for a 4-2 advantage, but the Cyclones Erik Nilsen answered with a single and run, and Coors Light went on to tie the game 4-all in the fifth on Brian Nelson's hit and run. Sarchett (triple) tallied the game-winning skin in the top of the tenth, scoring from third on a passed ball. Lefty's (8 hits): Jeff Sarchett single. R. Sarchett 2 runs. Scott Seaward 1 hit, 1 run. Sawtooth Auto Sales/AMT Rapids 6-6 83 124
Lefty's River Dogs 5-7 99 93
Twist 'N Trout Alley Cats 1-10 72 151

----------------------------------------------------------------

RESULTS

· Twist 'N Trout Alley Cats 20, Leftys' River Dogs 8

Everybody hit for the Alley Cats (23 hits), who started with a 5-run first sparked by a 2-run triple off the bat of starting pitcher Nic Nottingham (4 hits, 3 runs) and finished up with a 5-run eighth. Alley Cats: Danny Turner 3 hits (triple) and 2 runs, Ric Slone 3 hits, Ryne Reynoso 3 runs, Patrick Mullen 2 hits (double), Brandon Hughes and Robin Sarchett 2 hits apiece. River Dogs: Rusty Seaward 2 hits (double, triple), Craig Anderson 2 hits (triple) and 2 runs, Mike Abald HR, Dave Hausmann 2 hits and 2 runs, Scott Seaward 2 hits, Paul Creighton 2 hits.

· Lefty's River Dogs 14, Coors Light Cobras 9

Leading 10-9, the River Dogs busted loose with a decisive 4-run eighth. Rusty Seaward (3 hits, 2 runs) opened with a leadoff triple followed by singles by Scott Seaward, Dave Hausmann (3 hits, 2 runs) and Buffalo Rixon (3 hits, HR, and 3 runs), and a 2-run single by Paul Creighton (2 hits, 2 runs). The Cobras couldn't do much in the last 4 innings and suffered their second straight loss. Lefty's River Dogs: Mark Elsbree 3 hits (double) and 2 runs. Cobras: Brian Nelson 2 hits, Anthony Anderson 2 hits (double) and 2 runs, Brent Anderson 3 hits (double) and 2 runs, Hoss Schmidt 2 hits (double), Dan Gearhart 2 hits.

· Waxroom Snappers 17, Sawtooth Auto Sales/AMT Rapids 3

The Snappers extended their 4-2 lead with a 7-run fourth. Three walks, a sacrifice fly by James Cordes (2 hits), a 2-run single by Tim Mott (2 hits) and a 3-run HR by John Rathfon (3 hits, 3 runs) did the damage. Snappers (16 hits): Winning pitcher Lars Hovey 2 hits and 2 runs, Matt Buxton 2 hits and 3 runs, Curtis Bacca 2 hits, Jimmy Hart 2 runs. Rapids: Matt Zachary 2 hits (triple), Jeff Poggi 2 hits.

· Sawtooth Auto Sales/AMT Rapids 4, Coors Light Cobras 3

The Rapids handed the Cobras their first loss as lefty Ryan Stavros (8 innings, 7 hits, 5 Ks) outdueled Cobras ace Christian Nickum for the win. Fireballer Matt Zachary of the Rapids earned the save with a couple of strikeouts in the ninth. It was scoreless through four innings. In the visitor fifth, Jeff Poggi of the Rapids led off with a single and scored on a double by Stavros. The Cobras answered immediately, Dave Fox scoring on an RBI single by James Nelson. The Rapids added 2 runs in the sixth as Cory Goicoechea opened with a single, Matt Zachary doubled and both scored on RBI bouncing balls by Karl Nordstrom and Trevor Nordstrom. In the eighth, Zachary put the Rapids ahead 4-1 with a one-out solo HR. They needed all the runs because the Cobras mustered a two-out rally in the home eighth. James Nelson walked and Hoss Schmidt tattoed a 2-run HR. Dan Gearhart followed with a double but he was cut down at home plate after a single by Nickum—on a throw from left fielder Zachary to Rapids catcher Dennis McLean.

· Waxroom Snappers 12, Twist 'N Trout Alley Cats 7

Rod Watson's two-out, 3-run HR and a bases-loaded RBI single by Ric Slone gave the Alley Cats a quick 4-0 lead in the first. The Snappers came right back with 3 runs in the home first as James Cordes (2 hits, 2 runs) led off with a single, Max Paisley (2 runs) walked and Billy Neal (2 hits, 2 runs) cracked an RBI single. An outfield error and two-out RBI singles by Cordes and Paisley put the Snappers ahead 6-4 in the second. The Snappers padded their lead with runs in the fifth through eighth frames. Jimmy Hart drilled an RBI single in the fifth, Tim Mott added a run-scoring double in the sixth, Kevin Mora belted an RBI triple in the seventh and Curtis Bacca (2 hits) came up with a two-out RBI single in the eighth. Tim Carter got the pitching win, with Lars Hovey throwing four innings of relief. Ryne Reynoso (5 hits, 7 runs, 6 K) threw the first five frames for the Cats. Alley Cats: Brandon Hughes 2 hits and 2 runs, Dan Freeman 2 runs.
