On a beautiful weekend, another successful Sun Valley Summer Skating Championships came to an exciting finish Sunday with the staging of the showcase events at Sun Valley Outdoor Ice Rink.

Sanctioned by the U.S. Figure Skating Association, the four-day Sun Valley summer skating finals included competition in free skating, compulsories, spins and artistic.

The Sun Valley Figure Skating Club (SVFSC) sponsored the 39th annual competition.

And the local skaters did quite well, with first places posted by Nicole Pratt, Taylor Figge, Madigan Miller, Julianna Lamb, Abby Chase and Lacey Lipsky.

U.S. Figure Skating Association local judges were Barbara Stuns, Martin Levy, David Hold and Lolly Jensen. Out-of-town judges included referee Phyllis Baldwin of Driggs, accountant Kim Jan-Ai Ryden, Joan Burns, Jessica Gaynor, Michael Bauer, Joan Gruber, Barbara Holland, Beth Crane, Jack Searle and Gary Merrell.

Additional showcase judges were Lisa Marie Allen, Karen Kresge, Herman Maricich, Kathy Wygle and Natalia Zaitseva.
