Nils Ribi, a 17-year resident of Sun Valley, plans to announce Friday that he will seek a seat on the Sun Valley City Council. He scheduled a press conference at 9:30 a.m. Friday, July 22, on the Meadows Parcel on Sun Valley Road.
Ribi is the chairman of the Sun Valley Planning and Zoning Commission, serving on the board since 1999. From 1995 to 1999, he served on the Sun Valley Elkhorn Association Design Review Committee. He is also a founding member of the Sun Valley Community Trails Group.
On Tuesday, Nov. 8, Sun Valley citizens will be asked to vote for two candidates to fill two council seats. The seats up for election are currently held by Ann Agnew and Kevin Laird.
As the president of Ribi Corp., a private venture capital company, Ribi helps organize start-up technology ventures and is actively involved in valley-wide community volunteer efforts. Ribi is married to Patricia Brolin-Ribi, an attorney in private practice.
Press conference parking is available at Our Lady of Snows Catholic Church, immediately east of Ketchum along Sun Valley Road. In case of rain, the conference will be held at the Sun Valley Elkhorn Association's Harker Center conference room in Elkhorn.
