RESULTS

Smith/Splash&Dash 14, Marketron 13

Just like being over 40 in Beverly Hills, it was nip and tuck the whole way. The game featured seven lead changes and two ties. Tied 13-13, Clay Sanders drove home Jennifer Jones for the game winning run in the bottom of the seventh. Now that is surgical precision. Smith (26 hits): Clay Sanders 4 hits (HR), 2 runs. Matt Douthit 4 hits (HR/double), 2 runs. Jeff Jones 3 hits, 3 runs. Mike Beall 3 hits (double), 1 run. Samantha Sisiam 3 hits, 1 run. Liz 3 hits, 1 run. Marketron (19 hits): Kaitlin Linderman 3 hits, 1 run. Cammie 2 hits (triple), 2 runs. Jeff Gear 2 hits, 2 runs. Trudy Weaver 2 hits, 2 runs. Scott 2 hits, 1 run.

Anderson Asphalt 24, Evans Plumbing 8

Just like frankfurter-eating champion Takeru Kobayashi, Anderson relished a hot night at the plate, belting 26 hits in seven frames. The hot dogs of the league have a ways to go before catching the diminutive diner who downed 49 dogs in 12 minutes on the Fourth of July. Change it to a suds contest and they might have a chance. Anderson (26 hits): Kevin Drewien 4 hits (HR/3 doubles), 4 runs. Hoss Schmidt 3 hits (HR/double), 3 runs. Wheat Uhrig 3 hits (HR/double), 2 runs. Ali 3 hits (double), 3 runs. Alicia Heyer 3 hits, 2 runs. Evans (17 hits): Kathy Gray 3 hits, 2 runs. Lisa Adams 2 hits (double), 2 runs. Gordon Flade 3 hits, 1 run. Robin Southwick 2 doubles, 1 run.

Anderson Asphalt 14, Wicked Spud/Bradley Const. 6

In a battle between buddies, the Anderson crew got the best of the Wicked Spud from the outset. Thanks to a 4-run first, featuring doubles by Wheat Uhrig (3 hits) and Wendy Hosman (3B/2B), league-leading Anderson cruised to its tenth win of the season. Anderson (14 hits): Sue Mulcahy 2 hits (double), 3 runs. Bubba Nelson 2 hits, 3 runs. Tina Murphy 2 hits, 3 runs. Wicked Spud (15 hits): Bryan Burrell 3 hits (double), 1 run. Jeff Burrell 2 hits (double), 1 run. Anthony Rooney 2 singles. Jimberly Thomas 1 hit, 1 run.

Hailey Hotel 18, Smith/Splash&Dash 10

Trailing 5-zip, Hailey Hotel smashed its way back in the game, plating seven runs in the second highlighted by doubles by Eric Palmer, Amy Harris and Steve England. Smith tied it in the bottom of the second on runs by Mike Beall and Matt Douthit, but Hotel inched away with runs in the third and fourth and salted away win #7 with a 4-run fourth, featuring Palmer's 2-run blast out of the park. Hailey Hotel (21 hits): Kellen Chatterton 3 hits (HR), 2 runs. Steve England 3 hits (triple/double), 1 run. Kathy Baker 2 hits, 2 runs. Teresa Lipman 2 hits, 2 runs. Smith (16 hits): Matt Douthit 4 singles, 2 runs. Mike Beall 3 hits, 3 runs, Samantha Sisiam 3 hits, 2 runs. Tracy Raines 3 hits. Toni Marcroft 1 hit, 1 run.
