RESULTS

Wicked Spud/Bradley Const.14, Smith/Splash&Dash 9

The Spud grasped victory from the jaws of defeat. Up 5-3 after two innings, Smith took the lead in the third on Matt Douthit's 3-run homer and tacked on another three skins in the fourth to lead 9-5. The Spudders answered, pulling within one on Josh Jacobson's 3-run blast and tied the game on a triple and run by Bryan Burrell. The Tater Tots grabbed the lead for good on an RBI single by James Bradley and salted away three more in the seventh for good measure. Wicked Spud (16 hits): James Bradley 3 hits, 2 runs. Kim Bates 2 hits, 3 runs. Jimberly Thomas 2 hits, 2 runs. Josh Jacobson 2 hits (HR), 1 run. Smith (11 hits): Mike Beall 3 hits (double), 3 runs. Matt Douthit 2 hits (HR), 1 run. Toni Marcroft 2 singles. Clay HR. Tracy Raines single, run.

Hailey Hotel 16, VivaTaq/Zou75 14

The Hotel obviously has earthquake measures. Hailey withstood a furious 11-run fourth by Viva featuring homeruns by Brent Anderson, Travis Cooley and Davin Hanson. Trailing by three, 12-9, Hailey answered in the bottom of the inning with four consecutive singles by Traci Ireland, Terry Hodges, Amy Harris and Ryan Bronson, scoring twice to pull within one. In a drunk's favorite frame, the top of the fifth, Viva tacked on two more runs to make it 14-11. Hailey prevailed in the bottom of the seventh. Steve England doubled and scored the game-tying run and an unearned run by Anne Harris turned out to be the game-winner courtesy of Eric Palmer's homerun blast. Smith/Splash&Dash 18, Power Engineers 10

Smith notched its second win of the season by pushing 11 runs over the plate in the first two frames. Clay helped the rallies along by belting a double and homerun. Power mustered a 5-run burst in the seventh featuring triples by Andy Portillo and Cameron Lloyd but like Santa Claus on the 26th it was too little too late. Ho-ho-hum. Smith (21 hits): Matt Douthit 4 hits (HR/triple), 4 runs. Clay 3 hits (HR/2 doubles), 2 runs. Tracy Raines 3 singles, 3 runs. Samantha Sisiam 2 hits, 2 runs. Bud/Oak/LDE Electric 25, Marketron 4

On Tired Tuesday, The Mud Hens could barely muster a chirp. Surrendering 16 hits, 11 walks and six errors, Marketron was more cock-a-doodle-don't than cock-a-doodle-do.
