2005 Days of the Old West pay window


Here are the final results of the 58th annual Days of the Old West rodeo sponsored by the Sawtooth Rangers Riding Club July 2-4 at Hailey Rodeo Arena.

The eight classes in the Idaho Cowboys Association (ICA) and Intermountain Pro Rodeo Association (IMPRA) event are ranked in order from the biggest purse, on down. Stock contractor was Red Eye Rodeo Co. Arena director was Ted Uhrig. Added money was $700 per event:

Breakaway roping ($6,432 purse): 1—Brianna Evans 2.6 seconds for $1,479.36. 2—Melinda McDaniel 2.7 for $1,286.40. 3 (tie)—Mindy Yore and Sandie Trapp 2.9 for $996.96 apiece. 5—Megan Lewis 3.0 for $707.52. 6—Christine Jones 3.2 for $514.56. 7 (tie)—C.J. Moedl, Jennifer Fielding and Heather Williams 3.3 for $150.08 each (entry $75, 80 riders).

Team roping ($4,872 purse): 1—Nacho Cruz-Hutch Swan 5.8 seconds for $1,120.56 apiece. 2—Tyler Bell-Ben Tibbitts 6.5 for $974.40. 3—Cody Yerrington-B.J. Roberts 6.7 for $828.24. 4 (tie)—Todd Anderson-Tyler Skenadore and Cody Hutchinson-Beau Hutchinson 6.8 for $609.00. 6 (tie)—Billy Grandsen-Mike Stevie and Mike Pendergrass-Mike Eiguren 7.0 for $316.68. 8 (tie)—Seth Gurney-Austin Adams and Brady Siddoway-Coby Siddoway 7.1 for $48.72 (entry $75 per man, 63 teams).

Calf roping ($4,848 purse): 1—Ryan Yamauchi 8.7 seconds for $1,115.04. 2—Chase Taylor 8.9 for $969.60. 3—Cole Wilson 9.0 for $824.16. 4—Dan Webb 9.3 for $678.72. 5—Rawlee Yamauchi 9.8 for $533.28. 6 (tie)—Bland Ballard and Chris Hoagland 10.1 for $315.12 apiece. 8—Cody Pendleton 10.2 for $96.96 (entry $75, 58 ropers).

Barrel racing ($4,560 purse): 1—Clarissa Tavenner 17.224 seconds for $1,048.80. 2—Shirley Ankrum 17.409 for $912.00. 3—Annie Jacobs 17.438 for $775.20. 4—Karen Ewy 17.499 for $638.40. 5—Katie Christensen 17.570 for $501.60. 6—Toni Jannsen 17.597 for $364.80. 7—Stephanie Allison 17.654 for $228.00. 8—Mackenzie Wood 17.685 for $91.20 (entry $75, 54 riders).

Steer wrestling ($3,264 purse): 1—Jay Faulkner 4.3 seconds for $750.72. 2—Wyatt Kinghorn 4.4 for $652.80. 3—Kirk Smith 4.7 for $554.88. 4—Beau Smith 4.8 for $456.96. 5—Justin Hodson 4.9 for $359.04. 6—Justin Thompson 5.2 for $261.12. 7 (tie)—Ryan Trapp, Matt Cupp and Cody Wade 5.4 for $76.16 apiece (entry fee $75, 36 bulldoggers).

Saddle bronc ($2,952 purse): 1—John Dennis 80 points for $697.20. 2 (tie)—Wayne Hebdon and Beau Smith 73 points apiece for $458.16. 4—Levi Berry 72 for $239.04. 5 (tie)—Matt Morrison and Cody Allred 68 for $69.72 each (entry $75, 17 riders).

Bullriding ($2,676 purse): 1—Tag Elliott 88 points for $936.60. 2—Josh Lively 76 for $722.56. 3—Bodie Evans 75 for $508.44. 4 (tie)—Brandon Wallentine and Brody Erickson 72 for $254.22 (entry $75, with 24 riders).

Bareback bronc ($1,488 purse): 1—Don Waymire 80 points for $520.80. 2—Shane Porath 75 for $401.76. 3—Brad Reeder 74 for $282.72. 4—Derik Page 72 for $178.56. 5—Zac Hutchinson 71 for $104.16 (entry $75, 10 riders).

Hometown Bullriding: Salvador Contreras (Saturday, July 2) was the buckle winner in the 24th annual Hometown Bullriding contest staged as part of the Days of the Old West rodeo by the Sawtooth Rangers.
