RESULTS

Evans Plumbing 6, Smith/Splash&Dash 4

Neither team got its bats going until the later innings, but it was worth the wait. Leading 2-1, Evans exploded for four runs in the sixth, featuring consecutive singles and runs by Adam Erickson (2 hits, 2 runs) and B.J. Adams. Trailing 6-1, Smith pulled within two on taters by Matt and Mike and had two on base when Evans made the 5-4 play at second for the final out. Evans (15 hits): Steve Hendrix 3 hits, 1 run. Lisa Niedrich 2 hits. Starr Olsen 2 hits, 1 run. Smith (10 hits): Matt Douthit 2 hits (HR). Mike Beall 2 hits (HR/double). Merris Long 2 hits. Clay 2 hits.

Wicked Spud/Bradley Const. 17, Power Engineers 3

Just like quaffing hard alcohol in the afternoon, it was over early for the Power crew. Trailing 3-2 after one, the Spudders put Power to bed, scoring 12 runs over the next three frames. Lights out! Spud (17 hits): Buddy Isom 4-for-4 (triple), 2 runs. Anthony Rooney 3 hits (HR), 3 runs. Kim Bates 1 hit, 3 runs. Jimmy Bradley 3 hits (double), 2 runs. Amanda single, 2 runs. Power (10 hits): Joslyn Dollar 2 hits, 1 run. Dave Batelle 2 hits (double). Tiffany Moore 2 singles. Jeff Monroe 2 hits (double).

Anderson Asphalt 17, VivaTaq/Zou75 8

Unbeaten Anderson trailed 6-5 after the first frame, thanks to a homeruns by Viva's Dan Gearhart and Travis Cooley. But the A-Team took a one-run lead in the third on an RBI double by Hoss Schmidt, who later scored on a rippin' single by Kevin Garceau (2 HR's). Anderson broke the game wide open in the fourth on six consecutive hits, capped by Garceau's homer. Anderson (18 hits): Sue Mulcahy 4 singles, 2 runs. Hoss Schmidt 3 hits, 3 runs. Tina Murphy 2 hits (double), 2 runs. Ed Uhrig homerun/single. Viva (11 hits): Ben Talmadge 3 hits, 1 run. Brent Anderson homerun/single, 2 runs. Davin Hanson 2 hits. MJ Musselman single, run.

Hailey Hotel 9, Power Engineers 4

Just like MTV's Unplugged, Power Engineers lacked the amplitude to take advantage of six errors by Hailey Hotel, stranding seven baserunners. The Hotel crew jumped out to a 5-run lead in the first and tacked on two more runs in the second to remain undefeated. Rock on! Hailey Hotel (9 hits): Steve England HR/double, 2 runs. Tony St. George 2 doubles. Eric Palmer double/single, 2 runs. Amy Harris single. Ann Harris & Kathy Baker 1 run each. Power (6 hits): Janet Crockett 2 hits, 1 run. Charlie Baker 1 hit, 1 run. Cam Lloyd double, run. Joslyn Dollar single.
