Summer ice shows announced

World's best to perform at historic outdoor rink

Sun Valley Resort has released the 2005 schedule for one of its most popular attractions, the outdoor summer ice shows.

The shows, which take place at the historic ice rink adjacent to the Sun Valley Lodge, are scheduled to run this year from June 11 to Sept. 10.

Performances featuring world-class figure skaters will take place weekly on Saturday nights, typically starting at dusk. The schedule also includes a special show on Monday, July 4, featuring Jamie Salé and David Pelletier, 2002 Olympic gold medalists in the pairs competition.

The schedule of feature performers, which is subject to change because of injury or other unforeseen circumstances, is:

· June 11: Former professional world champions Anita Hartshorn and Frank Sweiding.

· June 18: World medalists and eight-time Lithuanian champions Margarita Drobiazko and Povilas Vanagas.

· June 25: 2000 professional world champions Elena Leonova and Andrei Khvalko.

· July 2: Salé and Pelletier, who in addition to being crowned Olympic champions have also been named world champions and Canadian champions.

· July 4 (Monday): Salé and Pelletier.

· July 9: 2002 Olympic gold medalist and four-time world champion Alexi Yagudin.

· July 16: Three-time world silver medalist and five-time European champion Surya Bonaly.

· July 23: 2002 Olympic bronze medalist and 2003 world silver medalist Timothy Goebel.

· July 30: Three-time United States gold medalists and 2002 world bronze medalists Kyoko Ina and John Zimmerman.

· Aug. 6: Three-time world champion and two-time Olympic silver medalist Elvis Stojko.

· Aug. 13: To be announced.

· Aug. 20: 2005 world silver medalists and 2005 U.S. gold medalists Tanith Belbin and Benjamin Agosto.

· Aug. 27: 2005 world silver medalist and 2005 U.S. silver medalist Sasha Cohen.

· Sept. 3: Olympic gold medalist and former world champion Brian Boitano.

· Sept. 10: Three-time Olympian and eight-time British champion Steven Cousins.
