Local cyclists hit jackpot in Treasure Valley Omnium

Durtschi, Pletcher win overall

The Treaure Valley Omnium cycling race was held this past weekend with events in Kuna and Boise, Idaho.

The Sun Summit Junior Cycling team was well represented in all three events; the omnium included a time trial with a serious hill climb, a road race, and a criterium in downtown Boise on Sunday.

The Sun Summit team was Mikey Matteson, Max Durtschi, Jimmy Hague, Davis Hague, Reid Pletcher, Scott Krankkala, and Gus Engelhardt.

Durtschi and Jimmy Hague took first and second, respectively, in the overall combined omnium in their 15 and under age class. Reid Pletcher was first overall is 16-18 and Krankakala was third overall in same group.

Matteson won his only event, the 16-18 road race. The team has races again tomorrow in Eagle, Idaho.
