SV5B swimmers in the mix at Pocatello


SV5B swim team members took their marks at the Simplot Aquatic Games in Pocatello last weekend and posted some fine results.

17-year old Amanda Harris swam to first place in the 200 and 500-meter freestyle events and the 200m backstroke. Harris placed second in three events, the 50 and 100-meter freestyles and 100m back.

Teammate Racheal McGinnis, 14, also bagged three golds, in the 50, 100 and 200m freestyles, swam to silver in the 500 free and 100 back and bronze in the 200 back.

16-year old Ray Bryson was also on top of the podium with a first place in the 200 IM. Bryson took second in the 100 breaststroke and third in the 100 and 200m backstroke, and fourth in the 100 free and 200 breast.

17-year old Ben Parker was a two time silver medallist in the 200 IM and 200 free, placed fifth once, and sixth twice.

Ashleigh Share, 14, turned in a top finish of fourth place in the 200 freestyle. Share also snagged fourth, ninth and 11th in various events. 12-year old Sarah Brown was a two-time bronze medallist in the 50 and 100m fly, and went on to garner fourth twice and eighth.

In the relay competition, the SV5B girls stroked their way to second place in the 200 freestyle, and fifth place in the 200 medley.
