Margi Driscoll scored seven goals for her U-18 Sawtooth United team at the season's first weekend tournament in Pocatello, April 16-17.
Driscoll's team finished the tournament with three wins and one loss, the best record posted by any Sawtooth team, on their way to winning a final 6-6 match over Odyssey in a shootout. In that game, Kaitlin Gasenica and Ireland King each scored twice.
Also performing well were the U-14 girls team who qualified for finals before losing a tough match, 2-0, to Intrepid. Meghan Luck was named the U-14 Man of the Match in a shootout win over Odyssey and then again in a 1-0 win over Jackson Hole.
The U-12 boys scored 6 goals in three games and finished their weekend run with 2 wins and a single loss in a shootout to the Boise Capitals.
U-11 Girls (1-2): In a 5-2 win over PVSC, Sloan Storey scored twice. Other goals by Erin Murphy, Megan Morrell, Miranda Gasenica. MOM: Kelly Hennessy.
U-12 Girls (1-2): Madison Gove and Hannah Lynch scored in a 2-1 win over the Idaho Falls Dragons. MOM: Freya Dickey.
U-13 Girls (1-2): Sawtooth beat Jackson Hole in a shootout with goals from Kelly Chapman and Allison Guinn.
U-14 Girls (2-2): Goals from Hennessy and Elgee. MOM: Luck, Jasmine Campbell.
U-16 Girls (1-2): Katie Leo was named MOM in a shootout win over the Bozeman Blitz.
U-18 Girls (3-1): Driscoll is an offensive powerhouse with 7 goals and Ireland King scored 3 with the whole team pitching in on offense. Driscoll had two hat tricks, one in a 6-0 rout of the Odyssey and another over Idaho Falls. Other scorers included Tara Cappel, Brianna Hull-Mullins, Gina Thomas, and Gasenica.
U-11 Boys (0-3): Nathan Moses with one goal over PVSC.
U-12 Boys (2-1): Chris Delacruz was named MOM in a tough shootout loss to Boise after a 1-1 draw and he also scored the game winner in a 1-0 win over PVSC. Jordan Levin scored twice in a 4-2 romp over Jackson Hole. Harlan Collins also contributed to the overall team's success.
U-13 Boys (1-2): Raul Salinas scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Idaho Falls and was named MOM.
U-14 Boys (1-2): Alex Conn scored, along with teammate Rafaeil Berrega in the team's lone win over the Spiders.
U-16 Boys (0-3): Tough losses for this team as Erwin Roman scored twice in a 5-4 loss to Blackfoot. Colin Almquist played strong and was the MOM in that match.
U-18 Boys (1-2): Strong 6-2 win over Idaho Falls Extreme.
