Cutthroats take their cuts at Rupert Country Club

No doubt Community School golf coach Harry Weekes is becoming well-versed in teenage slang, tastes and music choices by driving the team bus to various meets in the past couple of weeks.

It's a learning curve for all involved, including the young contingent of Cutthroat duffers.

Boasting three freshmen and a sophomore, The Community School participated in the Declo Invitational at Rupert Country Club Tuesday.

Max Harris posted the squad's low score with a 102. Spencer Harris and Cody Boeger both shot 105, and Regan O'Reilly recorded a 110.

Declo was the top team with a four-man 312. Filer was second at 324 and Wendell third at 345. Kimberly parlayed a 346 into fourth place. Buhl (357) was fifth and the Cutthroats (422) sixth.

The meet's medallist was Wendell's Kevin Oden with a 72. Declo's Spencer Mendenhall was second by one stroke.

In girls' play, Cutthroat Rachael Becker fired a 122. Jessi Lancaster of Wendell claimed the individual title with an 84. Declo was the top team at 430.

The Community School will host an invitational meet on Tuesday, May 3 at Big Wood Golf Course. Tee time is 1 p.m.
