Flames of SirJag

This weekend the valley seems to be simply purring with the flames of desire. Not one, but two exotic shows hit the boards both in Ketchum and in Hailey.

At the nexStage Theatre in Ketchum, direct from their home in Boise, is the Flames of SirJag.

SirJag (himself) said the show is "where exotica and art ignite. It's the birth of a new art form that combines the passion of dance, the sensuality of the human form, and fire. This show will excite and mystify at the same time. The intriguing dance of flame on the human body ignites powerful emotion with its entrancing ballet. There is no magic, slight of hand, or illusions in this show, everything you feel, hear and see is happening."

OK ...

Born of the creative combination of SirJag and choreographer Scylla Fisher, Flames features a cast of professionally trained dancers, artists and provocative adult role-play performers.

"Sun Valley just seemed like an appropriate place to kick off the tour of this show," SirJag said. "With its incredibly open atmosphere and individualistic yearning for the original ideas, where else would this show go for an honest assessment of its success?"

The show's opening act, Fosforita, is one of the Northwest's premier fire dancers. Following Fosforita is the main show, which contains nudity, profanity and bodies on fire, so if these offend you, it's not for you, Sir Jag said.

This is an adult show for ages 18 and over. It will be presented at 8 p.m. tonight and Saturday, April 23, at the nexStage Theatre. Tickets are available for $18 and $20 at the door, Chapter One Bookstore, and www.ticketweb.com.

Meanwhile, down south in Hailey, The Mint is featuring a show Saturday, April 23, entitled "Treasures of the Valley Exotica," featuring five exotic female dancers, also from Boise. The show starts at 10 p.m. with a cover charge of $10.
