Sun Valley's Carl Rixon Jr. skied to second place at the FIS Spring Series at Mammoth Mountain, CA, Monday.
Rixon's time was 2:02.22, .36 seconds behind the winner, American Jake Zamansky. Rixon's second best showing was an eighth place in Saturday's slalom. He finished 21st in the super G.
Robin Sarchett finished thirteenth in GS, just under three seconds behind the leader, Zamansky. Sarchett also finished fifteenth in both the slalom and giant slalom.
Also finishing were local racers Sean Higgins, Jean Christophe Rudigoz, AJ Cronk, Hunter Storey, Cameron Minor, Will Cannell, Dewey Moss, Kristian Timmons, and Dixon Mouseau.
For the women, former resident Hailey Duke had the best performance for a Sun Valley racer with a tenth place slalom finish on Sunday. Duke's second best attempt was a 26th place in the super G. Sun Valley ski team racer posted a 25th in super G.
Lauren Eder had a good weekend as Calley Brown, Lauren Parsons, Jessica Hamilton, McKenna Peterson, and Katie Rothgeb all finished their respective races finishing roughly in the middle of the competitive field.
