Just like the IRS in April the Wood River tennis team collected in a home meet against Jerome Thursday.

The Wolverines (3-0-2) dusted off the Tigers 9-3; posting straight set victories in eight of the nine matches that were contested. The Tigers posted points by winning #1 boys' doubles and two forfeits in #2 boys' doubles and #3 boys' singles.

Bolstered by a contingent of strong girls, Hailey swept both girls' singles and doubles. #1 Hadley DeBree and #2 Anna Chrysikopoulos won for the fifth time this year. Alexis Greenwood also posted a victory in #3 GS.

Wood River dropped only four games in girls' doubles, with Abby Fairman and Jackie Safran claiming the #1 match, 6-0, 6-2. Whitney DeBree and Kira Gardner reversed the score in the #2 match, 6-2, 6-0.

For the second time this season, Hailey's twosomes swept mixed doubles. Winning pairs were Seth Curran/Danielle Donovan, and Pike Nuengsikapian/Alex Mallea.

Thomas Phelan and Connor Fairman boys' singles matches were among the longest of the day, but both Wolverines emerged victorious.

Wood River's next two matches are at home. Hailey squares off against The Community School on Thursday, April 14, and Blackfoot on Saturday, April 16.
