Spring Series starts in Colorado

Cross-country ski finale

Sun Valley Junior Nordic ski teamers joined an international field during this week's 2005 Colorado International Spring Series races headquartered at Devil's Thumb Ranch near Winter Park, Colo.

Brooke Baughman of Ketchum and former Sun Valley racer Lars Flora of the Subaru Team each made the finals and placed third in Tuesday's Salomon Sprint Heats at Snow Mountain Ranch.

Here are other local placings in the sprint heats:

10—Hilary Patzer. 14—Ashley McQueen. 34—Luke Pletcher. 46—Mike Matteson. 47—Reid Pletcher. 49—Artie Livingston. 55—Dawson Paschall. 63—Chris Holmquist. 64—Robbie Hamlin.

Freestyle races were Thursday and classic races Saturday.
