Big Sky hosts Masters finals

For alpine racers this week


Sun Valley Ski Club Masters racers were on the podium in the opening events of the 2005 U.S. Ski Association Skier's Edge Alpine Masters National Championships at Big Sky, Mt.

In Tuesday's national downhill, Ketchum's Bob Dreyer finished 14th overall and second in Men's Class 7 (ages 55-59) behind Pepi Neubauer.

Another Intermountain Division racer, Randall Malin in Men's Class 4 (40-44), captured a bronze medal in his class and was 11th overall of 110 racers.

Earning DH gold medals in their classes were Al Auseklis, Nancy Auseklis, Rosemary Moschel and Dasha Kadulova.

Here are other DH class placings: 2—Glenn McConkey, Harry Baxter. 3—Gus Angelos. 4—Steve Slivinski and Jim Ruscitto. 6—Cliff Cunha and Bill Skinner. 7—Greg Moore. 8—Gary Loritz. 9—Ken Dreyer. 13—Jackson Allred.

On Wednesday, Groups C/D ran super giant slalom and Group B did giant slalom.

Here are SG class placings: 1—Nancy Auseklis and Dasha Kadulova. 2—John Droege, Glenn McConkey and Al Auseklis. 3—Harry Baxter, Chris Katzenberger and Meri Stratton. 4—Virginia Reed and Gene Timmons. 6—Ned Dolan and Bob Sarchett. 7—Ralph Roylance and Heather Black. 8—Carl Fullman and Steve Slivinski. 10—Drury Cooper.

Here are GS placings: 5—Cliff Cunha. 10—Greg Moore. 12—Gary Loritz and Ken Dreyer. 21—Jackson Allred.

Giant slalom and slalom racing continue today, Friday and Saturday, April 2 at Big Sky.
