Sun Valley Resort has extended the ski season at Dollar Mountain through Saturday, April 9.

Company officials announced this week that starting Monday, April 4, the Quarter Dollar lift will operate during the morning hours and the Half Dollar lift will operate during the afternoon hours. In addition, the Quarter Dollar carpet lift will remain open daily.

The plan to keep one lift open in the morning and another in the afternoon is designed to allow ski-school participants to graduate to slightly more difficult terrain during the day, said Jack Sibbach, Sun Valley director of marketing.

Lifts at Dollar operate from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Carol's Dollar Mountain Day Lodge, at the base of the mountain, is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily.

The Dollar Mountain lift ticket rate will be reduced to $10 for a full day's skiing, beginning Monday, April 4, continuing through Saturday, April 9.

Resort officials also announced specific plans for keeping lifts in operation on Bald Mountain, which will stay open through Sunday, April 17.

From Monday, April 4, through Sunday, April 10, the River Run, Lookout Express, Christmas, Frenchman's, Seattle Ridge, Mayday, Challenger, Greyhawk, and Kinderspielplatz lifts will all be in operation.

From Monday, April 11, through Sunday, April 17, the River Run, Lookout Express, Christmas, Challenger and Frenchman's lifts will stay in operation, weather permitting. Seattle Ridge and the surrounding bowls will be closed the final week.

Discounted late-season ski rates for Bald Mountain will go into effect Sunday, April 3. A full-day adult lift ticket will sell for $48 and a full-day child lift ticket will cost $27. Late-season ski passes will also be accepted on the mountain starting April 3.
