Christian pulls some magic out of his bag

Cutthroat sophomore wins at Pleasant Valley

It is a whole new season, but golfer Christian Cairncross is picking up where he left off.

Sixth in the 2A State tournament as a freshman, Cairncross was the boys' medalist in the season opener at Pleasant Valley Golf Course Tuesday.

Cairncross, a sophomore at The Community School, fired a 36 over nine holes to edge runner-up Shawn Florke of Kimberly by one stroke.

Host Kimberly won the meet with a four-man 159. Declo was second with 167 and The Community School third at 188. Lighthouse Christian (189) was fourth and Valley (214) fifth.

The Cutthroats travel to Gooding Tuesday, March 29.
