Sarchett flat out fast in Sun Valley Ski Club race


The Sun Valley Ski Club staged a two-run giant slalom on Baldy Tuesday. The event attracted 37 racers, 30 men and seven women.

The fastest in the field were Robin Sarchett and Heather Black. Sarchett turned in a two-run time of 67.8 and was almost 10 seconds faster than runner-up John Summers. Black claimed the women's crown over Randi Dubois.

Steve Heiderich won the Don Johnson Memorial trophy as the fastest ski instructor. Heiderich nipped co-worker Tim Shanklin by nine-hundredths of a second.

Class champions were Ginny Reed, Joanne Davis, Nancy Auseklis, Dubois, Nancy Dreyer, Black, Sarchett, Tommy Richardson, Summers, Brent Nichelin, Bob Dreyer, Bob Sarchett, Carl Fullman, Al Auseklis, D.D. Davidson and John Droege.
